1. Run Command Prompt as Administrator
If the boot configuration data store could not be opened is accompanied with a message like access is denied, most often this error is as a result of setting higher authorization. For an example, the BCDEdit may perform operations that needs administration access. One way of fixing this problem is by running command prompt as administrator.
For running command prompt as administrator,
- Click on Start Menu.
- Type ''Command Prompt''
- Right click on that and select run as administrator.
- In the User Account Control choose Yes.
Now you can use Command Prompt to perform operations without the error.
2. Change Boot Order
In some instances the BCDEdit might not work if the partition was set incorrect. The partition needs to be same as which it was originally created. The correction can be done by changing BIOS mode. However you should note that changing BIOS mode differs from motherboard and its manufacturer.
For changing boot order,
- Turn on the computer.
- Press the relevant key to enter Setup.
- Navigate to the boot tab.
- Find the original partition and change the boot mode according to it.
- Press Exit and Save changes.
